Yeah, I hope they reduce prices too, although it doesn't really matter to me anymore since I'm not getting a Mac now. My parents would rather kill me lol.

I know! Its really annoying. All the features are the same, yet the Macbook has to be expensive. It's unfair. Oh well, they do have better hardware and software alright. But they could do with some price reducing I think.

Backups, okay, I think I can do that. The thing with me is I don't really believe in deleting useless things. So when it comes to backups, it gets really big and I just have a 20 Gig external hard drive. But I'll figure something out, I guess. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

That's the stupid thing about Macs, they always come at a premium :-(
Do remember to make up a full back up of your Vista using Windows backup before you try anything. Make a partition of at least 15 GB, in Vista it's quite easy, Google it. Now put in that Hackintosh CD and follow the instructions... Still there is always a high chance that things can get screwed up since you say that you have zero installing experience. But trust me, the fruits of living life on the dangerous side will always be rewarding. So try giving it a shot. In worst case scenario you will have to reinstall Vista all over (10 % chances).... And you will learn a lot of new things too as a bonus.
Remember to BACKUP everything important in some DVD or flash drive.

I know its not very attractive but it's the best I could get with the kind of money I had. Of course I could have gotten a Macbook for around 10,000 more but then I didn't have that kind of money. My parents bought me this computer, when I earn myself, then I can think of buying a Mac. So I looked around for what I could get and this turned out to be pretty okay.

Yes, I've heard that drivers are an issue and nobody was able to make Wifi work. Wifi isn't a big deal for me anyway since I use my normal wire based broadband and my college also doesn't have Wifi. If I need to use Wifi, I can always get into Vista. My only concerns are that I'm scared that I'll end up blowing Vista and will have to reinstall everything and that's not something that I really look forward to. However, having used my cousin's Mac, I really do wanna try it. And the machine seems to be decent enough. I guess I'll try it during my holidays and if I screw things up, I'll ask you for help. Btw, just as a guess, standing at zero Windows installing experience, how much of a possibility is there that I end up corrupting Vista? Just generally.

No offense meant Ish, but Inspiron although a good performing laptop, is just a plain Jane. Zero attractiveness.
You can always install Leopard on any PC, and dual boot with Vista as well, using Darwin Bootloader. That's how I did it. Lemme tell you that getting drivers is a pain in the ass and Wi-Fi won't work no matter what you do. Using OS X was really great and I learned a lot about UNIX too while hacking into it. But that was that. I removed it after a month since my curiosity was over and I am all set to buy the real deal now :-)
insanelymac dot com is your site if you are interested in Hackintosh. Those guys there have an excellent and helpful community.
Mail me up anytime if you have any doubts.

Hey man, thanks for visiting my blog. I've just started with yours but I had to comment on this post. I love Mac too but I couldn't afford it so I bought a Windows based computer. Its a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a Core 2 Duo, 3 GB RAM. A couple of days back, I started reading about Hackintosh and I really want to install Leopard on my computer. But all the tutorials I read suggested that I can't dual boot Leopard which basically means I lose the Vista. Now I'm not really good with installing Windows and booting. So do you think you could help me out with it?

Or should I just stick with Vista?
