One of my most favorite songs, performed at a fitting occasion.
A list of 25 songs which were picked to be the best of 2008 by the listeners of National Public Radio. I got 15 of them in my iTunes. Looks like my taste in music isn’t that off-stream, eh…
My anthem for the week.
This song, Paralyzer by Finger Eleven was the iTunes best selling song in the Alternative genre for a lot of weeks. It has real catchy lyrics for a disco rock song and great vocals.
Here’s the video of the song.

I hold on so nervously
To me and my drink
I wish it was cooling me
But so far, has not been good
It’s been shitty
And I feel awkward, as I should (more…)
Jason Bourne kicks ass and nothing suits the movies telling his story than this song, Extreme Ways by Moby. Here’s the music video for the song from the first installment of the trilogy, The Bourne Identity.

Extreme ways are back again
Extreme places I didn’t know
I broke everything new again
Everything that I’d owned
I threw it out the windows, came along
Extreme ways I know move apart
The colors of my sea
Perfect color me
This is one of my favorite song of all time, Open Your Eyes by Snow Patrol. I first heard it in the pilot episode of a NBC show “The Black Donnellys”. Pity that show was canceled mid season although it was really brilliant. Here’s the music video of the song.

All this feels strange and untrue
And I won’t waste a minute without you
My bones ache, my skin feels cold
And I’m getting so tired and so old
This one is Is It Any Wonder by Keane, an East Sussex UK, Alternative Rock playing band. I am embedding the video of Keane performing this song at Live Earth Concert. That event was ‘rocking’ by the way.

I always thought that I knew
I’d always have the right to
Be living in the kingdom of the good and true
and so on
but now I think how I was wrong
And you were laughing along
And now I look a fool for thinking you were on, my side
Is it any wonder I’m tired
Is it any wonder that I feel uptight
Is it any wonder I don’t know what’s right (more…)
I heard I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You by Colin Hay, first in the soundtrack of the movie Garden State, which I consider to be one of the best soundtrack albums ever compiled. All the songs from this soundtrack simply stir your soul. Get the song from iTunes here.
I drink good coffee every morning
Comes from a place that’s far away
And when I’m done I feel like talking
Without you here there is less to say
I don’t want you thinking I’m unhappy
What is closer to the truth
That if I lived till I was 102
I just don’t think I’ll ever get over you (more…)
Sung by John Mayer, Waiting On The World To Change, is a satire that fills you up with despair, yet is so true; singing about the indifference that only we can correct!

Me and all my friends
We’re all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There’s no way we ever could
Now we see everything is going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don’t have the means
To rise above and beat it
Since music is like a second food for me, I have decided to post each week, my favorite lyrics from a song. So here is the first one from many to come.
This one is like my recent anthem. Here I am just posting my favorite part of the entire song.
From the song – In The Beginning by K’Naan. Get It here from iTunes
